What is Oaktree Academy?

Established in 2014 as a nonprofit organization by community-minded individuals, Oaktree Academy was founded to fulfill a critical local need for childcare services. The academy provides a continuum of safe, high-quality, and affordable childcare where local children reach the essential developmental and emotional milestones needed to thrive.

The Power of Community Care

Strengthening youth opportunity and local resilience starts with supporting the spaces where our children learn and play. Lending a hand during United Way of the West Shore's Day of Caring is a simple, meaningful way to bring people together and create lasting, positive change in Mason County. Whether you can give a couple of hours or an entire afternoon, every bit of help makes a visible difference for local families.

How You Can Help: Volunteer Opportunities

This Day of Caring will focus on refreshing the exterior of the Oaktree Academy building and improving the outdoor play area for the community. There are a variety of hands-on tasks available:

• Playground Weeding: Help pull weeds across several playground areas—this is our largest project and needs plenty of volunteers.

• Painting Playground Equipment: Apply a fresh coat of paint to three large equipment pieces that are already sanded and ready to go.

• Planting Flowers: Add fresh color to the grounds by planting four planters and two 25-foot landscape sections.

• Tire Removal: Assist with clearing roughly 8 to 10 tires of varying sizes, including a few large tires measuring about six feet in diameter.
